Classical Art and Rare Wines

The group will meet at the side door of Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, situated in the calm residential area of Janelas Verdes, facing the river Tagus.

 

Inside, we will present artworks from the XV and XVI century, that are highlights of the museum's collection. We will look at them carefully from an aesthetically perspective, and we will be guided by a visual artist.

 

After this visit, we will move on for a wine tasting that correlates with what we have seen before.

 

We pair rare wines with classical art. These wines can be quite unconventional and not easy to engage with at first. They demand time, patience and respect - perhaps a similar state of mind when contemplating the old masters.

Drinking rare wines can be challenging, since it can be the best and the most unusual experience. All we wish
is the wine tasting prolongs the memories of the artworks and creates discussion at our Art&Wine pairings.

For the tasting we selected Portuguese cheeses, olive oil and bread to accompany the wine. If you are vegan and if you have food allergies, let us know so we can have an alternative.
