Our story
From January 2014 to June 2016, Ana Rebordão studied abroad in one of the best Art Schools in Europe – Malmo Art Academy. During those years, she received the prestigious Portuguese grant from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. This period of her life was very prolific - she was feeling matured and accomplished. When she arrived in Lisbon life had changed.
She remembered her first wine tastings and how curious she was about developing her palate and knowledge about it. Then, the idea for Art&Wine pairings arose. As an artist, Ana learned to trust in intuitions, and this idea was beautiful and true, since it restored memories of the past and it was projecting
a future.
So this is how it happened: from the beliefs, creativity and endeavour of
a woman that will always reinvent herself according to what Life brings.
“As a lisboeta, who was away in Sweden for two and a half years, it was easy for me to see the changes that had occurred in Lisbon. In the summer of 2016, I conceptualised Art&Wine pairings and I made it real - this was a way for me to engage again with my city and to combine things that I love, good wine and meeting people, with my profession.
I followed this idea very intuitively, and that's what made me stay in Lisbon.
Starting this project was a challenge and a dream. I wanted to have a role in the preservation of my country’s character, and to create a meaningful job for myself paralleled to my career.
As a practicing visual artist, I believe I can introduce foreigners to a mysterious Lisbon. Therefore, I do not intend to behave as a regular tourist guide. I am a visual artist who is deeply involved in creating complex forms of expressions which I am keen to share with others.”
